Akki Roti

This is a traditional dish of Karnataka but the funny thing is I have not seen or eaten the authentic akki roti but only heard about it. So I have only eaten akki roti made by me, and it tastes gooood hence I have stuck to my version of it.
Ingredients:
Rice Flour-2 cups
cumin seeds-1tsp
salt
Onion-1,finely chopped
curry leaves-few,chopped
To be ground: half coconut,3 tbsp peanuts,3 whole red chillis, little water
Method:
1. Mix all the ingredients adding water if required to make a dough.
2. Spread a small portion on a banana leaf or a baking paper with wet finger tips.
3. Tip it on to a tava, cook it on both sides adding oil.....like a paratha
4. I eat it on its own but you could eat it with pickle or chutney.

  1. About as authentic as it can get! I would add some coriander leaves and green instead of red chillies.
